Noah Lyles has kept his life as an open book to the common populace. The track and field champion has set a class of his own, not only with track achievements but also with his activities off it. Behind Noah Lyles’ success so far, he mainly acknowledged the role of his support staffers. Reportedly, Noah Lyles never wanted to keep his team big.
Since his inception in the international arena, Noah Lyles took a path that kept him far apart from the usual track and field athletes. The six-time world champion did not mince his words, explaining his plan and the role of his team’ in it.
A dedicated ‘mentor’ for every persona of Noah Lyles

In an interview given to NBC Sports, Noah Lyles preferred to shed light on his different approaches to the sport and the people on whom he banks, for making each of those approaches a success. In line with this, he mentioned the role of his agent, Mark Wetmore, in maintaining his public image. The 26-year-old athlete recalled meeting Wetmore for the first time in 2016 when he made his expectations clear beyond the tracks.
As per Lyles, he told Wetmore, ” I wanted to transcend the sport. I refuse to just be another athlete that is known for running. It’s not me. I specifically said, I know what [Usain] Bolt has done, I want to do more.” Since then, Wetmore has been promoting Lyles across all the platforms with success. Not just Wetmore, his entire team contributed to what he is today.
Noah participates in different forums and his look-up or statements suit each of those forums. Though, As per him, his recognition of his sport paved the way for him to be listened to. And for that, he majorly acknowledged his coach, Lance Brauman. Apart from these two, his team has one of Lyles’ closest persons whom he has thanked many-a-time in the past.

Noah’s mother’s role in mentoring him
In Noah Lyles’ team, his mother, Keisha holds the position of manager. Recently, Noah was heard talking about his problematic childhood. Describing that, in the NBC interview, the athlete added, “I was just trying to survive, just trying to get through school, especially with ADHD and dyslexia and asthma”. So even after possessing the prowess, Noah Lyles came falling behind to prove himself to the world. In this situation, his mother, Keisha, came as the mentor.

Acknowledging his mother’s role, Noah added that in his 12 years of age, it was too hard to plan for his Olympic and other dreams. Claiming his mother’s hand in fulfilling those dreams, he stated, “she showed me how that would look”. Since then, Noah didn’t hold himself in projecting in just a single sphere. In that way, Noah Lyles stands tall, garnered with the support of his small but strong team, where every other member is mentoring him in their own ways.
