Recently, a video was shared on his official page, Kung Fu Kenny on X, with the caption, “Pro tip: As an athlete, your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy, depending on how you use it. This is why it’s important to train your mind and get help from a mental coach.”

In the video, he said, “Why am I doing it if I’m not going to be on track and give 110%?” His words prove that mentally he is prepared to face any sort of daunting challenge on the track. He also stressed upon the need to seek help from a mental health coach.

This is not the first time Kenny Bednarek has talked about mental health. In 2020, he had shared about what was going on in his mind post winning the silver medal. In an interview with Kenya’s Capital FM, he said, “For sure, I am tired of being Mr. Silver… getting the second place all the time.” With that, he added, “This year I am coming with a different mentality…the goal is to double (in the 100m and 200m).” His hunger for gold remained unquenched even after claiming a spot at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 World Athletics Championship.
