On October 4, Track and Spice posted an intriguing video captioned, “It‘s the first time in a global sporting event that robot dogs have been applied to transport discuses to replace  manpower” on X. In the video, the robotic dogs, with a running distance of about 7,200 meters for each match, were spotted on the tracks at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

The sole purpose of these robotic dogs is to lessen the burden on the management present at the event. According to the organizers, these robotic dogs are 30% faster and more efficient than humans and have reduced the workload of three volunteers per task. These robots are the innovation of a Chinese startup called Deep Robotics. Interestingly, three of these dogs were also present at the Smart Technology Experience Center of Asian Games Village to welcome visitors and were spotted dancing to the theme song of the event, “The Love We Share.”

Apart from Deep Robotics, the Hangzhou Asian Games has provided a vast platform for other local tech firms to grow as well. A financial startup and cloud service provider company were given the stage to grow their names in the technology market at this event.
