In her new Instagram story, the 2023 World Championships gold medalist has shared BTS images of her training sessions as she gears up for Paris. The short video clip shows Sha’Carri Richardson sporting a bloody ankle after she suffered a small cut while training. However, her determination for the upcoming big games dazzled with the caption of the story.
“War wounds“, wrote the 2017 PanAm champ in her story. Sha’Carri Richardson’s statement makes it evident that such bruises are all side effects of a larger goal ahead. Probably that is why she declared that she is “Gotta love them.” For a physical sport like track and field, athletes often need to push themselves to the edge to retain their A-game.
Such small obstacles on the road are like any other pothole on the way to greatness. Sha’Carri knows she can not stop at those given the burden of expectation she carries with her as she gears up for the imminent team trials for the Olympics.
