Recently, the 100-meter record holder participated in a relay at his kid’s sports day at an undisclosed location in Kingston. An account of the incident was posted on Instagram by @run.globe and @runnnsphere who made a revelation in their caption saying, “Asafa only used 30% of his speed.” The video showed Powell relay racing will fellow parents and holding himself from unleashing his professional side.
The facts were later confirmed by Powell who posted a snippet of the relay on his Instagram with the caption, “What a great day my first parent’s race, proud of team yellow house. I made a promise to only use 30% of my speed.” The legendary sprinter can be seen fixing his cap, as he maintained a “normal” speed with the non-professionals. With a tag of flaunting a minuscule of his speed, the sprinter sure left the internet in a frenzy.

Asafa Powell joins the tribe of fellow Jamaican parents
Well, just like the fourth fastest man in the world, another parent who happens to be the third-fastest woman of all time also took part in her son’s sports day race. Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce competed in a 100-meter race at her 5-year-old’s school in Kingston. Unlike Powell, she finished with lightning speed winning 50 meters ahead of the competitors. It almost feels like the legendary runners have entered a new milestone in their lives as parents.
