In the world of Track and field, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is a known name. The 36-year-old athlete can frequently be spotted standing atop the podium while representing Team Jamaica. This year, despite facing a nagging knee injury, the athlete managed to secure a bronze at the World Athletics championship. The 10-time World champion secured a position on the podium after finishing the event 100m in 10.77 seconds.

Recently, the athlete was seen uplifting her community with the help of her foundation, The Pocket Rocket Foundation, which is aimed to bring change in the lives of athletes in high school. On 19th October, Fraser-Pryce shared her Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Six-A-side football competition initiated by the Pocket Rocket Foundation experience on Instagram. In the pictures, the 36-year-old sprinter was spotted shaking hands with the football players as they geared up for the event. Additionally, Fraser-Pryce was also seen sharing gifts at the event.

Furthermore, in the caption, the athlete also discussed the opening ceremony of the event that is making a comeback after three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, “Last Saturday’s Opening Ceremony and Dress Parade at the brand new FESCO football field were truly a sight to behold, and it warmed my heart to see passionate supporters coming out to root for their favorite teams.”

Further, while inviting her fans to join her every week, the athlete added, “I eagerly look forward to the journey ahead as we commemorate a decade of positive impact.” The Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Six-A-Side Football competition will now be held every weekend and will run from October 14 to November 19 at 2:20 P.m.

This event initiated by the efforts of the Pocket Rocket Foundation is supported by many brands, including energy drink company Powerade, Digicel, and Fescoja.
