The league began with new-age sprinters ready to take on the challenge to dethrone Usain Bolt from his fastest-man title. The stage was set with American competence against the world’s best elite runners. With a declared goal to surpass Lightening Bolt?s 100 and 200m records this year, Noah Lyles sped to earn the reigning title in 200m. Although he missed out on slating off Bolt?s name to add his own he managed to place third in the fastest all time.

As the competition came to a close, Lyles became the center of attention in the community with his wins. All the while his sprinter girlfriend Junelle Bromfield was present to cheer for him. In a press conference recently, Lyles shared a core memory of when he first saw the legend, who he wishes to overtake on track records.

Lyles cemented his status with triple golds and 35th under-20s distance ties with Bolt in the Diamond League. A video was posted by @travismillierx13 on Twitter(X) that showed the 26-year-old talking about how the unusual turn of events when they met. Lyles said, ?I was actually walking up to see my girlfriend and hug her.? In search of her, his attention went to a tall figure watching in front of him he says. He even confessed to taking a while to figure and thought to himself, ?who?s this person, oh, it?s Bolt.?

And that is how Noah Lyles came face to face with the legendary Bolt. That wasn?t all, Bolt was all praises for his headlined alter track champion. Lyles further quotes Bolt’s words to him and says, ?I see what you?re doing and keep doing what you?re doing. The sport needs it.? To which Lyles added his thoughts profoundly saying, ?it?s very nice to have.?

The moment wasn?t all for the reigning men?s champion who continued to talk about why it meant what it meant in the situation. He says the statement came from someone who has been in the similar situation or what Lyles is trying to achieve. Like the athletes coming together despite the difference in their dominating era?s was nothing short of a display of true sportsmanship. As the countdown for the crowning ceremony continues, there appears to be much more for Lyles to achieve besides his collection of titles.

What would one expect once they?ve done their best? If you were to ask Lyles he would probably say something like ?elevate track and field to a new level.? The decorated sprinter wants to be a revolutionary force in the tracks since the pile of medals has been quite evident to show his prowess in the sport. At the time Bolt was setting his world-record times in the 100 and 200m distances, Lyles was 19 striving to add his name to the elite team.
