On the road to the Paris Olympics 2024, we are reminiscing about athletes like Usain Bolt and Veronica Campbell whose stellar wins still resonate. With just 164 days in hand, the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association is making the most of its time. It has posted a notice on Instagram with the caption, “ALL INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS. To register for the 2024 Paris, Olympics, “LONG LIST” please click the link in our bio and complete. DEADLINE FEBRUARY 20, 2024″. Just 7 days to the target time and the interested ones can still give it a go. If they thought that the chance has slipped and the wait continues, it’s a golden opportunity.

The requirements mentioned in the notice are:

  1. Passport sized photographs (no hat or glasses)
  2. Copy of Passport Bio page (picture page)
  3. Copy of Passport front and back covers (Passport must have expiry date later than February 28, 2025)
  4. Copy of last Schengen Visa it issued within the last 5 years

As the Jamaican athletes gird up to snatch titles in this Olympic too, they already take pride in 87 total medals won across all events. The Jamaica Olympic Association came to force in 1936, almost a decade before the nation debuted in the Olympics. Let’s take a look at the most successful domain.
