Noah Lyles’ brother was taken down by another track and field star?

Olympic champion, Noah Lyles is one of the best track and field stars, however, his brother Josephus Lyles unfortunately faced tough competition at the ISTAF Berlin 2023. This event started on September 3, 2023, with Women’s 100m, 400m, 500m, Discus throw and Men’s 200m, 400m, 1500m, 110m and several other events in the schedule. Josephus Lyles was undoubtedly a competitor in the 200m event where an unexpected result shocked Lyles’ fans. Josh Hartmann representing Germany whose season’s best and personal best is 20.o2, was fastest in the field with that time out did Lyles in 200m.

Josephus Lyles with a season’s best at 20.94 and personal best at 19.93 attained the second position. This was an interesting and tight race. Hartmann is in his best form this season and in this race, both of them had a very close call. Hartmann had crossed the finishing line at 20.14 seconds and Lyles followed him at 20.52 seconds.

FloTrack posted a video of the race on their Twitter account with the caption, “Germany’s Joshua Hartmann takes down Josephus Lyles, brother of Noah Lyles, in the 200m in Berlin.”?It is a heartbreaking moment for Lyle’s fans. However, he made an impressive run after returning from injury. In the video, Hartmann is seen pointing towards his name after winning the match and Lyles with his admirable sportsmanship is seen hugging the winner. Being the brother of one of the best American sprinters, Josephus Lyles knows how to bounce back.

Josephus Lyles and the effect of the brotherhood on his career?

The path of Josephus Lyles has been different from his brother. And be it injuries, setbacks, or any kind of failure, he has been the biggest cheerleader of Noah Lyles. Josephus has always been facing comparison and brotherhood when it comes to his career, and he has been gracefully dealing with it. Josephus has always looked up to Noah and he has never failed in cultivating Josephus’ passion for sprints. They have also competed in the same pro race at the Diamond League in Monaco 2020.
