Michael Jhonson responded to this question with a tweet: “Companies like NBC make decisions based on sound metrics for business success. Something is telling them televising USATF champs on their terrestrial channels is not good for their business. All organizations have a responsibility to do what?s best for their business. The IOC makes sure the Olympics remain good for NBC?s business. USATF have not insured these championships are good for NBC?s business, despite it being their responsibility to do so.” Johnson emphasized how athletics has become just another number for NBC and declared it not a good entrepreneurial move for the company.

Michael Johnson has now become a beacon of hope for US track and field and is not afraid to call out the corrupt motives of corporations. In addition, Sha’carri Richardson, a booming athlete, has decided to take a bold step against this injustice. Richardson proposes convening an athlete meeting to raise a voice against this motive.

In the video, Richardson wanted to reach the athletes participating in the US championship who were not happy with the changes made in US track and field. The athlete then asked such sprinters to fill out a form to strategize a meeting where they could talk about the major decisions taken by corporations. And also create an organization to hold a voice in such big decisions that can alter their career path forever.
