The Eugene leg of the prestigious Diamond League is finally here. Track and field fans are girded up to witness their favorite stars speed past everyone and emerge victorious. With this, Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Shericka Jackson will race for the gold once more. 

The tournament will pick up the excitement built by the previous legs of the league and the World Athletics Championship. Participants will push hard to walk back home with the Diamond Trophy. The highly anticipated 2023 Diamond League will be broadcast on different networks across countries. Date and Venue of the 2023 Eugene Diamond League final

The 2023 Diamond League season showcased fiery displays of athletic action in the Zurich, Xiamen, and Brussels legs. Now, the final meet of the year brings global star athletes to Eugene, Oregon. The grounds that hosted the World Athletics Championship in 2022 will now host the Diamond League Final.

The Prefontaine Classic 2023 will take place at the Hayward Field Stadium and be the ultimate test for all athletes. 

The 2023 Eugene Diamond League will treat spectators with unlimited high-voltage action on the 16th and 17th of September. The Eugene Diamond League comes after just eight days of the Brussels iteration.

The Eugene leg will mark the third Diamond League meet for the month of September after Xiamen and Brussels. The schedule of the Diamond League has divided the events into two different days.

Schedule of the Prefontaine Classic 2023

Day 1 of the competition will feature the highly-anticipated 100m dashes for men and women. The contests will see an energetic Sha’Carri Richardson battle for another golden victory and take another shot at FloJo’s record. Fans will then witness Noah Lyles chase after Usain Bolt and Shericka Jackson chase after FloJo’s 35-year-old record in the 200m dashes.

 

American track and field star Fred Kerley will also attract a lot of attention for the 200m race. A lot of eyes will also eagerly await the Budapest shot put champion, Ryan Crouser. 

The 30-year-old American powerhouse said he is sure to shatter the previous world record. Crouser triumphed over everyone at the 2023 WAC, despite having two big and painful blood clots in his leg.

The events will be carried out according to the following schedule. The events will follow the Pacific Standard Time (GMT -7).

Day 2: 17th September 2023

  • 11:30: Women’s high jump 
  • 11:40: Men’s discus
  • 11:48: Men’s long jump
  • 12:04: Men’s 800m
  • 12:39: Women’s 5000m
  • 12:57: Men’s pole vault
  • 13:04: Women’s 400m hurdles 
  • 13:08: Women’s discus
  • 13:17: Men’s 3000m
  • 13:37: Women’s 400m
  • 13:42: Women’s long jump
  • 13:52: Men’s 110m hurdles 
  • 14:05: Women’s 100m hurdles 
  • 14:09: Men’s shot put

  • 14:36: Men’s 200m

Similarly, Shericka Jackson is 0.07 seconds behind FloJo’s 200m record. Lastly, Sha’Carri Richardson stands 0.16 seconds behind FloJo’s 100m record at 10.65 seconds. Whether or not these racers will beat their targets, will be live-streamed on select networks across the US.

All the broadcast and livestream details for the Eugene Diamond League

The Prefontaine Classic 2023 will be exclusively broadcast over select networks and platforms. The broadcasting partners of the 2023 Eugene Diamond League for both days are NBC and Peacock. Streaming giant Peacock will start the live broadcast of the Prefontaine Classic 2023 from 11:00 AM on 16th September 2023.

The day will kick off with the women’s javelin throw. The Pacific Standard Time (GMT -7).will be followed for all broadcast timings. The streaming of 16th September will conclude with the Eugene leg exclusive, The Bowerman Mile from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.

The second day of the competition will begin streaming at 11:30 AM. Day 2 will be initiated with the women’s high jump and will end with the high-stakes women’s 200m dash.

Sha’Carri Richardson and Shericka Jackson, along with other star sprinters from the US and Jamaica will end the tournament in style. The day will conclude with the awards ceremony broadcasted by NBC and Peacock. Champions in all 32 different disciplines will receive awards at the conclusion of 2023 Wanda Diamond League.

Winners get to walk away with the prestigious Diamond Trophy made by Zurich’s oldest jewelers. Beyer Jewelers command the most respect in the world and have been amazing people with their creations since the 18th century. The champions also get to walk away with an opulent prize of $40,000.
