The US track and field athlete shared a story on her Instagram account where there is a picture of her wearing all the medals she won during her career. The Olympic gold medallist shared her emotions in the caption. She said that her journey had more tears, doubts, and prayers than joy, confidence, and trash-talking. But she never backed down.

She learned to struggle. To keep trying and get up again after every knock. She reminded us to never shy away from taking help from others because you can’t do it all alone. The retired athlete further revealed her struggle with Nike, and the formation of her own sports shoe brand to win gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

Allyson Felix: A name of hard work and self-belief

Allyson Felix’s track and field vocation started with the 2003 US championship, where she qualified for the next year’s Paris world championship. Her first medal came in the Athens Olympics where she won a silver medal in 200m. Then she became the world champion in the same category in 2005 and 2007. In the 2008 Olympics, she won silver in the 200m and gold in the 4x400m relay team race. Next year she won again her third world championship in the 200M category.

The 2012 London Olympics was her best where she won gold in three categories: 200m individual, 4x100m, and 4x400m team relay. In the 2016 Olympics, she won gold in the relay category. From late 2018 to 2019, she has gone through pregnancy complications. She also struck in dispute with her sponsor Nike on the issue of post-birth financial assistance. She parted with her sponsor and ended up forming her own brand, ‘Saysh’. In Tokyo Olympics, she won gold in the 4×400 relay wearing sneakers of her own brand. Indeed, Allyson Felix’s journey is an inspiration to reckon with.
