Noah Lyles’ relationship with Junelle Bromfield has been no less than a fairytale. The couple has known each other since 2017, but they weren’t anything more than friends back then. However, in 2022, they reconnected, and in December, they made it official through social media that they were dating. Since then, they have been setting benchmarks in relationships and have been considered a power couple, not only from the track community but the sports world altogether.
But what is it about them that inspires such widespread admiration? It’s the bond that the two track stars share with each other—supporting one another through one another’s tough times while also being present during the best moments of their lives. Lyles frequently discusses his relationship, and this time he has been open about his journey with Bromfield, which was also filled with complications.
Long story short, it’s pure love

Sitting with Rai Benjamin and Grant Holloway, this time on a couch and not on the track, Noah Lyles discussed his relationship with his fellow Team USA athletes on the Beyond the Records Podcast on YouTube. The 400mH Olympic champion poked Lyles about his recent engagement with girlfriend (now fiancée) Junelle Bromfield. “Big boy stuff,“ Benjamin smirked, but the 100m Olympic champion corrected him, stating, “It’s grown man stuff.”
However, after undergoing these life-changing experiences, Lyles became more serious. He emphasized that a younger version of himself would have been astonished to see what he had accomplished in his life, both on and off the track. The 27-year-old emphasized that he recently purchased a house after becoming engaged to Bromfield, and they are now eagerly anticipating their future together. And when he attended a wedding recently, he thought that his wedding was potentially the next thing.
“To be honest, when we started dating, I kind of already knew. If you have heard of our love story, which I’m not going to tell because it’s extremely long, just the fact that we were dating meant that it was meant to be. It was very hard for us to even meet each other. It was definitely a Hallmark movie for sure,” Lyles stated with a big smile on his face. The 100m Olympic champion always had an optimistic look whenever he thought about his relationship. He knew the ship would sail to greater distances, and their time would be fruitful together.

However, the path wasn’t that easy, as there were plenty of complications, but that only increased their love for each other as they fought it out, side by side. But what were the problems? Since Bromfield was from Jamaica, and the United States had been a rival to the country in sprinting, she had a bad perspective from her own nation’s people. Often she was the target of cyberbullying and many other challenges, including racism. But when the times were dark, she always had her boyfriend by her side. He never left her alone in such harsh times and always battled problems with her.
On the plus side, Lyles compared their wholesome relationship to a Hallmark movie and expressed his desire to maintain it in its current state. Surely, they had their moments together, and it wasn’t always about the American sprinter. Bromfield had her own set of problems, but after being in a relationship with Lyles, she acquired a larger support system than she had ever had, who consistently stood by her side.

The efforts that Noah Lyles puts into his relationship are massive. This is evident in his constant efforts to keep Junelle Bromfield in a positive state of mind whenever she is with him, as he provides a wealth of emotional support. However, he’s not the only one who has shown a ton of kindness to the Jamaican; the Olympian’s mother, Keisha Bishop, has been no less than Bromfield’s own mother. Lyles’ mom has treated her like her own child and has always supported her in many ways.
“When I came, she didn’t ask me to pay rent. She told me to come live with them. I’m not used to people just taking me in just like that. That was a family effort. Practice was 40 minutes away, and she took me to practice every morning. And when it was time to leave practice, if practice ended at 12:30, I guarantee you that by 1 or 1:20, she’s outside waiting,” Bromfield went candid during a conversation in Sim Soul Sessions. She recalled the time when she moved to Florida and felt nothing but like at home, owing to the hospitality provided by Lyles’ mother. The sprinter was simply astonished and filled with gratitude.
