American shot putter and discus thrower Ryan Crouser has two Olympic gold medals in his kitty. He also holds a world record in the shot put, both in indoor and outdoor events. On his way to bring glory to the USA in the World Athletics Championship 2023 in Budapest, the track and field star has also battled the scary problem of blood clotting. While standing atop the podium is bliss, getting firsthand praise from a legend is indeed an achievement as well.

Ryan Crouser recently experienced the pride of being spotted by another track and field legend. His indomitable spirit is sure to get a major boost with the legend himself taking to social media to hail Crouser.

“The Duck” hails Ryan Crouser

The track and field legend Michael Johnson, often referred to as “The Duck” for his typical running style, recently re-shared a video starring Ryan Crouser on his X account, and witnessing it, Johnson couldn’t stop himself from complimenting the extraordinary athlete. In the video, Crouser is seen making a jump with razor-sharp precision that made Johnson write, “Crazy athleticism!” The post that Johnson re-shared is also interesting, as it points out and breaks a common perception about athleticism.

The caption of the original post reads, “The “I’m too big to be athletic” myth officially debunked by world record shot putter Ryan Crouser”. However, this is not the first time Crouser has put his athletic spirit on display. He debunked the fitness myth with his performance in WAC a few months back.

Battling past health scare to stand atop the podium

Ryan Crouser made space for himself in millions of hearts after he delivered a terrific performance and defeated his blood clot issues. He battled his problems and wore the crown of world champion by winning his second consecutive world shot put title in Budapest, Hungary. Crouser recorded a score of 23.51 meters, despite having such a serious concern.

After winning this honorable title, he expressed the pain, stating, “Preparation for World Champs was excellent until I woke up with pain in my calf that presented as a strain after a throwing session”. He further added, “Battled the pain for 10 days of training as best I could”. It remains to be seen how many best performances Crouser further produces with his “crazy athleticism”.
