The prominent sprinter, Issam Asinga, who holds the World U20 record for 100 meters, is back again and making headlines. Asinga got banned from the AIU (Athletics Integrity Unit) back in August 2023 for consuming the banned substance GW1516. The sprinter has been trying to prove his innocence since then, and now the AIU has released their recent statement regarding the whole situation.

The Athletics Integrity Unit has put an end to its investigation into Asinga, and the four-year ban stays. But the sprinter is not ready to put an end to this and recently shared a story on his Instagram account revealing the details of the scenario, proving his innocence to the world. Let’s take a look at what the sprinter has to prove.

Asinga shared a recently shared story, “Money runs the world.” He shared one more story, which he deleted later after making pretty big announcements about Pepsico. The sprinter broke down the whole incident and shared that he received a Gatorade gift package from Pepsico. The package contained Gatorade Recovery Gummies that displayed the NSF logo.

But things got intense when the sprinter tested positive for the banned substance GW1516 after having the gummies. In the statement, he wrote, “The product was contaminated and the NSF testified that the lot I consumed was falsely represented as NSF-certified.” The athlete is left disheartened after all he has gone through to prove he’s not guilty. The young sprinter mentioned that the AUI “issued the harshest decision without regard for facts.”

The young talent felt more disappointed in Pepsico for bringing him the gift and not mentioning the proper information on the labels. Asinga further highlighted “their refusal to respond to such a serious issue.” The record holder concluded his statement and said, “If Pepsico cooperates with requests from the AIU-appointed lab for the product samples from the same lot number, my name can be cleared.” He stressed that his career has always been his top priority and he would never do anything that could affect his career.

However, the sprinter has deleted the story, so these are all just speculations for now. But he posted another story regarding the issue, writing, “Revised statement coming, revealing some more details.” He might bring out some more details about the incident and share some more unheard facts. This is just a clear indication that things are not going to rest this easily and that there is much more left than meets everyone’s eye. Everyone is waiting for the sprinter’s next statement.
