Thompson began his 2025 with a notable win at the GC Foster College meet in St. Catherine, Jamaica. Breaking his own personal best of 6.67s, he clocked 6.48s with -2.1 m/s wind to finish first in 60m. The win took Thompson to No. 5 on the Jamaican all-time list for 60m indoors or outdoors. Ahead of him on the top 5 list were Ackeem Blake taking the top spot in 2023, Asafa Powell coming in second place from the World Indoors event, Yohan Blake at No. 3, and lastly Lerone Clarke at the fourth spot.

Making such a return, and that too with such honor, for Thompson, it was difficult to live up to the legacy of a star like Usain Bolt, who has given Jamaica a new makeover. But little did he know that the record-breaking win for his representing native could in some way add to his prominence.
His Paris Olympics appearance was another highlighting event of his career. Despite the win, Kishane Thompson’s missed chance at the gold medal there brought his first Olympic medal for Jamaica. Putting a tough competition for Noah Lyles, the sprinter, however, lost out by just 0.005 seconds in the 100m final event. His 9.79s finish was quite a close one against Lyles. Coming with such a close shot, the sprinter who was left with a silver medal win came as a dominant competitor to the likes of a player like the American star.
His record-breaking performance has resulted in history being created. And irrespective of win or lose, he now has a record of his name. This is something that very few can claim. After the 2024 Olympics, this added win is indeed special, with fans calling him fast and dangerous too.
Kishane’s win gets fans under frenzy
The record-breaking achievement has now earned Kishane Thompson some major fan appreciation. For a fan, the 60-meter outdoor race was the first time seen by the audience. “I’ve never seen a 60 run outside.” The college meet category, coming as a first-ever event for the fans, however, ended with Kishane taking over the lead with quite the unexpected win.
The dominant win, however, highlighted Thompson’s personality in the event, with fans commenting, “He’s a heavyweight while everyone is a lightweight.” As evident in the event footage, one can see his dominant body structure taking the spotlight in comparison to the other competing sprinters in the lineup.
Not just heavyweight, but Thompson’s performance gets another major tag from one of his fans. Commenting on his look, he wrote, “It’s looking dangerous.” Not looks, but if performance could kill, it would be the Jamaican sprinter at the event. The record-breaking performance of 6.47 seconds stole the show, reflecting a dangerous competition for his rivals.

But he won not just because of his fast-paced run. There is much more to it. A fan mentions how the wind also comes into play: “Not even the wind could stop bro😂.” Winning the first spot, the determination showcased by Kishane Thompson during the performance is quite commendable, with no hindrances coming in between his focus.
A fan, however, had a strong impression of Thompson’s performance as being very powerful that day, “Power.” Kishane has made a transition from being called dominant to now straight-up dangerous. But these tags truly portray the real image of Kishane Thompson as the next big thing. And even Kishane must be looking forward to more dominant performances.
