Kerley will match up against Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala. Omanyala, 26, is the current African record holder in the men’s 100m category. He is also the 8th fastest man of all time with a time of 9.77 seconds. This will not be Fred’s first appearance at the event, as he is the defending champion in the 200m category. Fred won the race in 2018 with a time of 19.76seconds.
Fred is going into the event with high morale. The American sprinter has made headlines throughout the year with his impressive performances. Intending to equal Herb McKenley’s record, Kerley will be looking to defend his crown to boost his morale.
