After an arduous process of legal actions and stress, Usain Bolt and thousands of fans have the same set of questions on their mind. Where did all the money go? Stocks and Securities Limited, the stocks company primarily involved in Bolt’s financial scam, had 10 days to return the athlete’s life savings. With almost $12 million missing, the scam has invoked strong reactions from Jamaica as a whole country.
Recently, as reported by The Daily Tribune, Jamaica’s government officials have spoken up about the scam and the star’s tragic situation. While citizens echo similar sentiments, it begs the question – what now? How would one recover millions of dollars lost in a stock scam?

In light of the scam, one of Jamaica’s top artists, Gage, released a song called ‘SSL’ that echoes the questions of the mass. Although Bolt’s celebrity status and his recognition as a national hero in Jamaica got the fraud to the headlines, it’s important to note that many others affected by the same fraud have had their life savings disappear.
From songs released about the scam to Bolt’s own discreet, mysterious messages on his social media – the fraud captured headlines. While fans have supported the Track and Field star throughout this mess, many top officials have raised their concerns. Finance Minister Nigel Clarke acknowledged the strong emotions and resonated with them.
Clarke strongly believed that the perpetrators of such crimes must be caught. In a strong statement to the AFP, the minister said, “If you rob depositors, or you defraud investors and you put our financial system and our way of life at risk, the Jamaican society wants you put away for a long time — a long, long, time”.

How is Bolt currently managing the mess?
With almost $12 million straight up missing from his accounts, things have been rough for the track star. And the situation now looks bleak. Despite the involvement of multiple attorneys and even the FBI, the case isn’t seeing the ray of hope that it needs. Amidst this, Bolt took a tough step.
In a public announcement, Bolt declared that he fired his business manager. The split was not amicable as well. And while the star has been dejected for a while, he holds on to hope. He has also promised strict actions against SSL while going through the stressful situation of getting back his money.
