It’s nothing new about Sha’Carri Richardson posing for an advertisement that features a fashion product. She has been doing it for a long time, and after earning her career-first Olympic gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relays in Paris this year, her popularity has skyrocketed even beyond the track and field community. There are also a ton of advertisements that she has done with Nike, and again this time she has returned with a new one, featuring a new product.

“1 of 1! The only one! New Nike Women Air silhouette! Coming soon…” Richardson wrote on her Instagram caption that included three pictures of the track and field athlete. In the first picture, the American athlete sat down for the pose, donning a Nike jacket, a skirt, and the new shoes of the brand. Apart from the product, Richardson’s nails stood out due to the glossy red color.

While her Instagram post caught a ton of attention online, that also included WWE star Jade Cargill, who is known for her interest in the style of the track and field athlete. The AEW champion is a huge fan of Richardson, and when Richardson posted about the Nike collaboration, she commented with a fire emoji to show her excitement. A few months ago, she was even spotted wearing pieces from the Nike x Jacquemus collection. She even shared photos on her Instagram, showing off the Nike and Jacquemus pink Swoosh bag and crop top.

Also, as this collection was so popular due to the influence of Richardson, it was sold out on the first day of its release. This was a huge achievement not only for the American athlete but also for the sport, as sprinters are making waves with big brands like Nike and ultimately bringing newer fans to track and field. For Richardson, fashion has been an integral part of her identity, and she has shared her thoughts with those who criticize her for it.

Track star’s bold statement towards her fashion critics

Whenever Richardson is on the track, it’s not only about her speed that attracts a ton of fans towards her, but also it’s about the glamor she carries, thanks to her impressive fashion sense. She’s truly a follower of Florence Griffith Joyner, whose philosophy focused on a certain phrase that read, “Dress good to look good. Look good to feel good. And it feels good to run fast.”

Richardson has also been mentioned by many of her admirers for being the Flo-Jo of this generation of track athletes. However, while there are people who respect her fashion sense, there are also plenty of critics who always make their way to find something out of her style to criticize her. The Olympian has noticed her critics and once shared a bold statement during an interview with Blavity TV.

“I feel like even seeing other woman that you can see in other sports, they’re like, ‘I don’t care what you say about my hair, I don’t care what y’all say about my outfit, I don’t care about that because at the end of the day, I’m going to do what I do, but you still gonna watch, you’re still going to respect it, and you have no choice but to look’,” said Richardson.

The sprinter is aware of the negative messages, but it is something less of her concern. She knows whenever she appears on the track, she will have to put up a show just because that’s something she adores, and it’s her style, which is admired by her legion of followers who actually care about her.
