All the athletes nominated are also on their toes to grab the last title of the year. The countdown has begun with the announcement of the five finalists for the Women’s World Athlete of the Year Award. However, it turned out disappointing for the fans of American sensation Sha’carri Richardson.
Richardson showcased her brilliant sportsman spirit after the announcement of the finalists. While she couldn’t make it to the finals, she penned down a heart-warming note for Shericka Jackson and all the finalists on her social media leaving her followers in awe. With her achieving the honor of her life in Dallas recently and then not making it to the finals has left mixed feelings in the track community.

Richardson, who is the 100m world champion and the fastest woman on Earth, failed to make it to the final race for the Women’s World Athlete of the Year. However, this didn’t seem to shake the confidence of the US Sprinter. She sportingly took to her social media to cheer out loud for the athletes selected for the finals.
She shared the post of World Athletics on her Instagram story and tagged all the finalists in this post. She left a cute and short congratulations note for all the athletes who made the cut. The note carried, “Congratulations to the beautiful ladies on being finalists for Female World Athlete of Year😍😍😍”. The finalists are Tigist Assefa, Shericka Jackson, Femke Bol, Yulimar Rojas, and Faith Kipyegon.
This sweet message left all her 2.9 million followers in awe. The World Athlete of the Year is one of the most prestigious awards in the track and field community and athletes eagerly wait to grab this title. Sha’carri herself was one of the 11 nominees for this category but couldn’t make it to the finals.
Along with her, there are other five athletes who couldn’t make the cut. However, Richardson had a great season this year. From stellar performances, to getting a track named after her, she really did enjoy a flurry of accomplishments and honor in 2023.

Sha’carri Richardson, a resident of Dallas, received one of the biggest accomplishments of her life on the 10th of November 2023. She started her journey as an athlete on the 10th of November and years later this day will be known as Sha’carri Richardson Day in Dallas. With this, the John Kincaide Stadium in Dallas is now named after her.
The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees cast their votes to name the track after the fastest woman on earth. Richardson on this expressed, “I don’t want to stop. And it’s not going to stop. It’s going to get better.”

It was an overwhelming moment for the athlete as she brought her grandmother who pushed her to become what she is today in this respectful ceremony. There is no stopping the accomplishments of one of the most decorated female athletes in the track and field community.
