The 2024 Paris Olympics are only four months away, and things are becoming intense every day. While America’s prodigal son Noah Lyles gears up in quest for his maiden Olympic gold, his opponents are leaving no stone unturned either to hinder his goals. Among his most notable foes, Jamaican Yohan Blake is arguably the one who is most likely to create the most significant obstacle on Lyles’ way to the top. And now, the two-time Olympic medalist once again gives a sneak peek into his iron will.

The world’s top track and field runners are spending hours in the gym everyday as they scurry to retain their best form for the Olympics. Likewise, Blake is also going all-in, and he wants his workout to be an inspiration to those who look up to him.

In his latest post on X, captioned “Trust and believe,” Blake shared a few words for his fans to help them keep their heads in the game. Sporting a pair of cool shades and multiple chains around his neck, Blake can be seen doing gravity-defying training regimen with hopes of upping his game. “Remember, be a go getter, always aim high“, Blake advises fans. He goes on to state that every day he pushes himself to strive for better and he believes his fans can also attain greatness as well.

“Today is Monday, start the week positive”, asserted the two-time World Championships gold medalist, highlighting the importance of finding the positive aspect from a situation. “Lots of you probably don’t know where the next food, don’t know where the next clothes or the next money coming from, but with yourself and belief in God,” one can rise up to the occasion, says the Jamaican. “I know what I want,” he said with resolute determination. Blake looks unfazed by his past struggles. For him, the only way is forward.

A fierce rivalry nearing culmination?

On the other hand, the upcoming Olympics offer the opportunity to attain immortality. The American has entered in all four events at the Paris games (100, 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay) and is looking to achieve something that even the legendary Usain Bolt couldn’t do despite his elaborate career on the tracks. However, his task will not be easy by any means, especially with Yohan Blake eying the 200m event at the French capital. With a personal best of 19.26 in the 200m race, Blake is the second fastest man in the event and can easily give Lyles a run for his money.

Lyles’ best time in the same event is 19.31, which is currently the national record. However, as someone who grew up with little financial security, Blake’s ambitions seem to give him a burning desire that can trump others when it matters. But will his thirst for greatness give him the edge on the grandest stage in Paris? Only time will tell.
