Improvement forms a significant part of people?s lives. One keeps on improving oneself through hard work and dedication. Though the willingness of athletes to improve themselves is something else. And they do better their times in subsequent meets. US track star Sydney McLaughlin accomplished such a feat in one of her events at the World Championships.

The hurdler produced the fastest time in the 400m hurdles at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. It marks the fourth time she has bettered her world-record time in the past 13 months.
Sydney McLaughlin betters her time at the 400m hurdles yet again
McLaughlin clocked an astonishing 50.68s in the event, smashing her previous record of 51.41s, which she set on the same track less than a month back at the USATF Outdoor Championships. Therefore, she shaved 0.73s from her previous world record time. With this, she has established her absolute dominance in the sport.
It is a significant margin in a sport where athletes win by hundredths of a second. And with this time, she became the first female track athlete to break the 51-second barrier. Previously, she demonstrated her mastery when she completed the event in 51.46s at the Tokyo Olympics, setting a new record.
The time is nine-tenths of a second faster than Dalilah Muhammad’s time, the second-fastest woman in the event’s history. Therefore, she has secured the world-record spot for some time, unless she decides to better this time again at the next meet.
Currently, she holds five of the six fastest times in the history of the 400m hurdle race. Additionally, it marks a significant achievement for the athlete as it is her first gold in the event at the Worlds. The latest victory in the 400m hurdles has made her the second-youngest track athlete to clinch an Olympic victory, world title, and a world record.
Twitter users react to the new world record
Following the event, numerous leading media houses posted on Twitter, and fans could not contain their excitement. Prominent athletes and fans have swarmed the social media platforms to congratulate McLaughlin. Moreover, posts, comments, and stories on the platforms have almost triggered a fan fest on social media.

So smooth. Such relaxed running. I am assuming she's counting her steps like the great Edwin Moses did. You shouldn't win a 400 m race by 10 m

Some even compared her to other track legends.
If I recall Edwin would run 13 steps between each hurdle and it looks like Sydney is at 15 steps
