The US Anti-Doping Agency has come up with a new whereabouts tracking system. Sha’Carri Richardson took to her Instagram stories and shared the depth of her concern about the same. In her first story, she shared a screenshot of the chat where she was seen raising her voice with concern. She expressed, “So as US athletes should know there’s a new system that has just been created for our whereabouts going into this very important Olympic year.”

Richardson further added, “There are many concerns even as an elite athlete myself I’m worried about because this will impact my career if I don’t understand what to do”. She has requested the fans of track and field to assist the athletes in getting answers about the same. Following this, Sha’Carri Richardson also said that this new change of athletes updating their whereabouts by 15th December 2023 is not in the best interests of the athletes.

No explanation of this new change by the USADA has been a bit concerning for Ashley Spencer as well. She stated, “It’s so hard to believe a system set to “protect” athletes has so many flaws”. Stating a past incident, she wrote, “It’s a scary feeling that there are those who will do what they can to sabotage athletes who represent this country”. This concern is serious for Richardson, as she doesn’t want the concerns of her past to happen again.

The American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson faced a very difficult situation when she was suspended for marijuana consumption by the USADA. Although not used for performance-enhancing purposes, the suspension was still implied by the organization as it is against the system.

With this suspension, she lost her US title, and her top-three qualifying finish to earn a berth on the US Olympic women’s 100m team went in vain. She wasn’t allowed to race the event at the summer’s games. Without these allegations, Richardson was among the top athletes.
