The women’s discus throw witnessed a heated competition between the old competitors Valerie and Tausauga. Allman did not wait for any moment, she opened the event with a bang. In her very first attempt, the 28-year-old athlete set the bars high with a 68.66-meter throw. She had stared at every nook and cranny of the outset. Her early effort somewhat resembled her last month’s world championship. No amount of praise could define how terrifically the prolific athlete performed.

Allman seemed to be in full form. Even last year, she started with a bang with a 69-meter throw, however, was stunned by Tausauga’s throw in the latter half of the event. On the other hand, Tausauga was not stunned by Allman’s early start in Eugene and quickly got in the race by attaining second position in the third round with a 68.36-meter throw.
