Gabby Thomas has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in track and field, not just for her exceptional performances but also for her financial milestones. While many top athletes fail to succeed consistently, Thomas has broken this rule; from winning high-profile tournaments such as Athlos NYC to earning Olympic gold.
After an extraordinary year on and off the track, Thomas received the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Female Athlete of the Year Award during the Night of Legends earlier this month. To pile on the talkative evidence, she not only topped among a field of world-class competition, but she racked up over $150,000 in prize money earned—by far the most money for anyone on the circuit.
Gabby Thomas dominated her field while being the woman who won the most money in track and field from winning events. She started her season with a victory at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, winning the 300m short track event, and taking $3000 prize money. The next historical win was recorded at the 2024 World Athletics Relays, where they won gold in the 4x100m and 4x100m relay. Prize money? Around $20k.
