The World Athletics Awards 2023 will be held on the 2nd of December. On the 13th of November, the finalists for all the categories were announced and Richardson, who was nominated for the World Athlete of the Year, was not selected as a finalist. She faced defeat from the five finalists including one of her frenemies on track, Shericka Jackson.
