Could IShowSpeed's raw talent actually rival Olympic athletes, or is it just beginner's luck?

IShowSpeed isn’t only breaking the internet but also athletic boundaries. As a YouTuber, he is known for his energetic and challenging videos; this time, the challenge is slightly different. Speed surprised his fans with a recent jaw-dropping sprint against the Olympic star, which has left fans speculating about new beginnings.

Darren Jason Watkins Jr., widely recognized as IShowSpeed, showed his athletic skills in the 50m unexpected matchup with Noah Lyles. Despite Speed’s lack of professional training, he gave Lyles a tough competition, leaving fans amazed. And Speed was recently seen training with American gymnast Fred Richards, which intensified Speed’s technical skills. Fans are now wondering: could Speed be more than just a YouTube sensation?

‘FearBuck’ shared a short video of Speed on ‘X’ doing a 6-foot flip with so much ease. The post quotes, “IShowSpeed shocks Olympic medalist and professional gymnast Frederick ‘Flips’ Richard by completing a 6-foot jump that Flips didn’t think he would make.” In the clip, the flip was first shown by Frederick, followed by Speed. Though he was hesitant at first, he managed to jump with ease, leaving Richard surprised. Seeing Speed’s inbuilt skills amazed fans.

Watkins’ bold move is defying the odds; no one would have ever imagined that Noah Lyles would ever compete with a non-athlete. But IShowSpeed gave tough competition to Lyles in the $100,000 race, and even some social media users argued that Lyles barely defeated the streamer. You may ask why, like, Noah Lyles is known as the “fastest man in the world.” While they both started their 50-meter race, for the first few seconds, Speed was ahead of Lyles. Without having any skills or training, it is a proud moment for Speed and his fans. But how did it all start?

During a live stream, Speed challenged Lyles, “I need to prove the world I’m the fastest man alive, bro, and I need to race you, so me and you need to race.” It happened when he was FaceTiming YouTuber MrBeast, and the Olympian was with him. Speed even tried attempting to break the world record for backflips. He managed to complete 660 flips in 19 hours, against 1008 flips in 24 hours.

Olympic bronze medalist Fred Richard was also stunned by Speed’s 50m dash performance as he finished so close and showed interest in training him. On TikTok, Richard said, “I got to say, Speed, I’m impressed. 660 backflips! I would train you speed.” Speed only needs some technical stuff to nail the next race, as he has so much potential to defeat even top athletes. While fans appreciated Speed and said it was close, Gabby Thomas took to his social media and mocked, This wasn’t close…like at all.” The race created a buzz in the track and field community.

During a live stream, Speed challenged track athletes without naming anyone, and he also felt that many were scared of him. He said, “I’m not about to say no names, but all these people who are professionals… whatever they’re professionals at… they are scared to race me. I’m calling everybody and anybody out.” He even felt that Lyles was scared of losing, seeing tough competition in the 50m dash. Fans are really excited and proud of Speed as he is all geared up to compete in the track and field world.

Fans are going crazy over Speed’s unbelievable athletic feats

“Nah, Speed did it so effortlessly is there anything he can’t do?” one fan exclaimed after witnessing IShowSpeed’s stunning six-foot jump in front of Olympic gymnast Frederick ‘Flips’ Richard. It’s not the first time IShowSpeed has left fans in awe of his athletic abilities. Reactions to his latest stunt continue to pour in, with one fan saying, “Speed is really out here defying expectations! A 6-foot jump? For a content creator who lacks professional training, his performance against such an athletic benchmark is noteworthy. His fearlessness and physical agility are unlike anything his audience has seen, building his reputation as a daring performer who continually defies expectations.

“This mf Spider-Man atp; I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts web-swinging by tomorrow,” joked another fan. One even said someone has misled him, “Speed would make a good athlete I don’t know who misled him to be a YouTuber.” Though playful, such reactions hint at a deeper intrigue—if Speed continues to push these physical limits, perhaps he’s destined for even more ambitious challenges that could surprise everyone. But could this unpolished but motivated internet star really compete with and defeat Noah Lyles, a world-class athlete with years of sprinting experience?
