Sometimes collegiate sports in the country show exactly why it’s considered the stepping stone for athletes’ later professional careers in phenomenal fashion. With multiple records and awards on the line constantly, track and field stars continuously strive for greatness to etch their names among the sport’s elites. At the recently held David Hemery Valentine Invitational, one runner took everyone by surprise as he stormed past an over-a-decade-old record set by another Gators athlete with graceful ease.

While several names promised some thrilling moments, it was Parvej Khan who made the Gators’ day by bettering the school’s record in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational after thirteen years.
