After bagging a gold and silver at the Paris Olympics, Sha’Carri Richardson is taking it easy during the season. However, the sprinting icon is spending her free time well, exploring new horizons and growing her business opportunities. Since the beginning of November, Richardson has already collaborated with Beats by Dre and Nike. Now, the Olympian is going at it herself.

After announcing signature shoes including the Nike Women’s Air Superfly, NOCTA Tech Fleece, and AF1, Richardson has announced her own venture. The Olympian’s brand has nothing to do with shoes or track and field but rather beauty. However, just because it’s a beauty brand doesn’t mean Flow&Go Hair Extensions doesn’t have a track and field connection.

If the name of the brand doesn’t already sound familiar, then the Instagram user handle may ring a bell. “Launch after launch I’m excited and I KNOW YALL BEEN WAITING. Welcoming @flow_gohair to the world,” Sha’Carri Richardson wrote in the caption. It didn’t take long before fans took notice of the possible easter Florence Griffith Joyner egg in the sprinter’s brand.

“The name OMG. Rather on purpose or not #Flo-jo,” one fan commented on Richardson’s post. Florence Griffith Joyner, aka FloJo, still holds the women’s 100m and 200m world record for nearly four decades and is the widely accepted GOAT of women’s track. Richardson has also never hidden her love for the legendary sprinter on social media.

The Olympic gold medalist revealed just how much FloJo’s style influenced her own in 2019. “Y’all love talking about my hair & my nails like the greatest woman to ever enter the game didn’t run in style,” Richardson posted on Instagram after receiving backlash for wearing eccentric wigs and nail art during races. Richardson herself didn’t respond to the comment.

However, the fans were sold regardless of the Olympian’s confirmation. “Should have seen this coming – SO PROUD OF YOU! A BRILLIANT marketing move.” exclaimed another Instagram user in the comments. However, the possible FloJo reference wasn’t the only reason fans seemed excited about Richardson’s upcoming product.

Sha’Carri Richardson made some clarification for the fans

The Olympic gold medalist’s announcer immediately created hype. Although Richardson asked people to “stay tuned for the official launch,” the community was buzzing with anticipation. Some couldn’t hold their curiosity and asked some questions. “Is it track girl friendly?” asked a fellow track and field competitor. The 24-year-old world champion responded.

“Of course, approved by THE track girl,” Sha’Carri Richardson replied to the curious fan. As someone who uses hair extensions and wigs on the track, the two-time Olympic medalist wants to make her products hold up to the standards she hopes for. Meanwhile, other fans had suggestions for the track athlete.

After Richardson announced a hair extension brand, one fan expressed hope for the athlete’s nail extension brand as well. “If you do your own nail sets next I’m definitely getting that too,” commented the fan, stating that not only will get the extensions, but she’ll also buy a product that Sha’Carri Richardson hasn’t even announced plans to release yet.

Other fans showed similar excitement in buying the product. “Omggggg definitely buying,” stated the fan. However, those looking to pick up Flow & Glow hair extensions will have to wait until Sha’Carri Richardson announces a release date. Finally, others were simply happy to see their favorite sprinter shine off-track as well.

“So when you said, you not back you better, you wasn’t just talkin’ bout them feet huh?!” commented one fan referencing Richardson’s motto ahead of the Olympics. “I’m not back, I’m better.” became Richardson’s motto after her double gold medals at the 2023 world championships and stuck with her until the Paris Olympics. However, after her comeback on the tracks, it seems the sprinting icon is ready to apply that philosophy to every aspect of her life.
