Did Katie Taylor truly deserve the win, or was Amanda Serrano robbed of her victory?

Noah Lyles stunned the crowds at Bercy Arena when he edged his fiercest rival, Kishane Thompson, for the Olympic 100m champion title on August 4. Leading up to the Paris Games, the sprinter let the world know he had his eyes on the prize. And the world watched the most-anticipated event with bated breath. However, the 27-year-old had proved that he didn’t just talk the talk, but he could walk the walk as well. But the Summer Games are long gone, and the world moved on to something just as exciting.

November 15 will be the date that forever altered sports history. Popular YouTuber Jake Paul stepped into the ring at AT&T Stadium to fight off the legendary Mike Tyson. Even though this seems like an odd pair-up, given how the former is a 27-year-old, while Iron Mike is now a retired 58-year-old, this is what got the crowds hyped up. But another exciting bout caught the Olympian’s eye.

Noah Lyles was blown away by an equally exciting duel

Even though the Paul/Tyson bout was deemed to be the headline event, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano seemed to have made the sprinter’s night. The duo had previously locked horns at Madison Square Garden and battled it out again on Friday night. In a highly-anticipated matchup, Taylor earned the super lightweight champion of the world after beating her opponent 95-94. Shortly after the battle, Serrano shared her perspective with fans on X, “I landed 107 more punches, she got a point deducted and I lost 95-94 lmfao.”

But this caught Noah Lyles’ eye, who shared a few words of encouragement. “I’m very new to boxing so idk how it works but it looked like to me you definitely won. By far the most entertaining match last night.” By the looks of it, the Olympian doesn’t seem to be a fan of the final results. Yet, he admitted, “Me and my fiancé are new fans!” However, the exciting duel didn’t go off without controversy.

Serrano walked out wearing a bullet-proof vest surrounded by Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. On the other hand, Taylor walked towards the ring, soaking in every moment. However, as soon as the bell went off, the duo tested the waters by sparring it out. It wasn’t until the end of the opening round when Serrano unleashed a powerful left hand, leaving Taylor dazed.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Katie Taylor truly deserve the win, or was Amanda Serrano robbed of her victory?

The featherweight held her own throughout the match, but her opponent wasn’t backing down easily either. During the fourth round, Taylor headbutted Serrano, opening up a cut above her right eye. After a short examination, they battled it out some more. Until Taylor was warned for using her head excessively towards the end of round eight. Yet, despite the point deduction, she eventually climbed her way to the top. But this isn’t the only time Noah Lyles has voiced his opinions about another sport.

The Olympian found himself in hot water after the World Champion spectacle

Remember when the sprinter boastfully exclaimed, “World Champions of what? The United States?” Shortly after adding three more world titles to his roster at the World Championships in Budapest last year, the 27-year-old had a bone to pick with the NBA. He voiced in frustration how it didn’t make sense for the winner to be dubbed as World Champions because there “ain’t no flags in the NBA“.

However, the world wasn’t pleased with this. In fact, this caught Tyreek Hill’s eye as well. When the Miami Dolphins star was asked about Noah Lyles’ claim, he didn’t hold back! He clapped back by bringing up the 27-year-old’s performance in the 200m event. For those not in the know, the Olympian ran that race while suffering from COVID and eventually mustered a third-place finish.

But that’s not all. Their social media duel eventually brought up his comments from last year. When the Olympic 100m Champion attended the US Open women’s final, he was spotted next to 7x WDC Lewis Hamilton. The duo even shared a lighthearted moment in the stands. Yet, many were incredibly surprised by this unusual pair and questioned what could have brought it on.

On the other hand, the graphic on the screen stated ‘7-time FI World Champion’ under Hamilton’s name. While the Mercedes driver was hailed by many, the same couldn’t be said about Noah Lyles. The sprinter is a 6x world champion himself. Yet, while they enjoyed the thrilling match between Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula, many dismissed his accolades by referring to him as some fast dude. But what do you think about his honest take on the duel between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano?
