From Sha’Carri Richardson’s incredible win in the 100m sprint to Shericka Jackson’s triumphant victory in the 200m heat, the World Athletics Championships had everything. Nonetheless, one name that shone brighter on the tracks of Budapest was Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who, despite her knee injury, blazed on the tracks with absolute finesse and gave a neck-to-neck challenge to her opponents.

Despite entering the competition with an injury, Fraser-Pryce defied the odds and sprinted her way towards the home line in both the 100xm and 4x100m relay. However, the Jamaican sprinter ended up with another laceration, as she was rendered with a new injury. Nevertheless, following her sprint, Fraser-Pryce sought medical assistance for further treatment.

Doctors reveal the status of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s injury

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce received immediate medical attention after her run at the 4x100m relay race finals. The 36 YO had been giving her best throughout the tournament despite being able to crank things up to her maximum output. The injury had already cost her the gold medal in the 100m dash where she entered the race as a favorite.

In fact, her aim of a sixth-world title was left in the dust by Sha?Carri Richardson. The Jamaican sprinting legend had to settle for a bronze medal despite being just 0.12 seconds behind.

Pryce eagerly awaited the relay race to get back at the American sprinter in the relay race. While she did deliver an excellent run on the tracks, she had to be escorted after the race, in the wake of injury.

Fans were eager to know what happened to their racing superstar. While everyone wanted another dazzling victory for the sprinters in Canary, the price of Pryce?s health was too great. The latest injury update from her doctor, however, allowed the Jamaican fans to exhale in relief. A social media post featured an interview with Pryce?s doctor, Dr. Warren Blake, where he revealed that Pryce is fine.

Dr. Warren Blake revealed that Fraser-Pryce is a little upset about the loss, but is still quite lively. He said,?“[She is] in good spirits. I mean, a bit disappointed that we didn’t get the gold [medal] but despite that, she knows what championships are all about and she’s in good spirits.”?

Pryce looks forward to a staunch recovery

Her doctors explained that her injury was not dangerous, and she would make a complete recovery very soon. The news sent a huge wave of happiness among all Jamaican fans and they could finally celebrate their relay victory.

After all, their queen worked hard to earn the silver medal along with her compatriots. Dr. Warren Blake also told the Jamaican Observer that the 36-year-old Athlete was in good spirits and happy.
