The World Athletics Championship ended on one of the highest possible notes and its craze has still not subsided. One of the brightest stars at the WAC was the Jamaican sprinting ace, Shericka Jackson.

The women?s 200m champion, however, still has a lot of gas in her tank. Shericka Jackson came very close to breaking the indomitable 200m record set by FloJo back in 1988. While everyone already knows that Jackson is hellbent on breaking the 200m record, she recently shared another name on her hit list.

Shericka Jackson hints at a record-breaking comeback

Shericka Jackson is one of the most competitive and strong-headed athletes in the world. The Jamaican sprinter didn?t waste any time in delivering a devastating equalizer to Sha?Carri Richardson after her 100m loss. Jackson made the 200m sprint look like child?s play as she raced miles ahead of the competition.

The look of disappointment on her face despite winning the gold medal spoke volumes about her mindset. Jackson fell just 0.07 seconds short of FloJo?s 21.34 seconds record.

The Canary sprinter recently made major headlines after pulling out of the 2023 Diamond League right after the tournament. However, the initial scare fans received has now been replaced with a highly-pumped Jackson aiming to tear through everything.?

Shericka Jackson appeared for a special interview a day before marching to Zurich with her national flag. The second-fastest 200m runner dropped some major bombs before her diamond league showdown. Jackson said, ?I said I wanted to beat the Jamaican National record, which is currently 49.3. My personal best is 49.4, which was back in 2019. So, I would definitely want to run 100 and 400 at Jamaica trial.?

This confession reveals that she is all set to draw blood from Sha?Carri Richardson at the 100m dash. However, it also unveils that her terror at the 400m track may resume in Zurich. In fact, she is after the Jamaican national record. Shericka Jackson looked extremely confident about her ?superfast? speed. However, the only problem she said she?s currently facing right now is not having the consent of her coach.

The immense confidence of the second-fastest 200m runner

2023 World Champion Shericka Jackson said, ?Coach wouldn’t allow me, but, I definitely hope someday coach and I can sit and we go back to the 400.? The interviewer asked Shericka Jackson how fast she thinks she can go and asked her if she can break past the 48-second barrier.

Shericka Jackson said, ? Definitely. I think I’m capable of it. I think, back when I had a different coach, he said I was capable of running 47, and definitely I still believe that.? She re-emphasized that she already thinks she will break the national record and thus, can easily manage a sub-47 second performance. The wait for the diamond league is almost over. The determined Jackson is all set to leave her competitors, as well as past competitors in the dust.
