Noah Lyles has stormed into global headlines once again. This time, though, he didn?t make news for his amazing victories or for beating another one of Usain Bolt?s records. Despite having a stellar season, Lyles unfortunately ended 2023 with a major defeat just like Sha’Carri Richardson.?Such a season would have served as ample preparation for the upcoming Olympic year and earned applause for the 23-year-old. However, one shout-out would mean the world to him, especially after the agonizing 0.02 seconds separated him from a second 100m Diamond League title.?

Despite his narrow loss at the Prefontaine Classic 2023, Noah Lyles? girlfriend Junelle Bromfield cheered him up. While she proudly posted about Lyles? wins, she didn?t fail to upload stories after his loss. In fact, the Jamaican sprinter hinted at some exciting plan just for her boyfriend.

After Noah Lyles did not take to the track for the 200m dash, Junelle Bromfield uploaded a cute story on her Instagram that said, ?Time to have some fun.? The story carried Lyles? Instagram post announcing a season wrap, where he?s sipping a drink. Last time, Bromfield and Lyles enjoyed the picturesque city of Zurich. This time, Bromfield may ramp things up to allow Lyles a warm and rejuvenating season wrap-up. While Lyles can rest for the time being, he now has to worry about a resurfaced concern.

Noah Lyles was on the perfect dream run. In fact, he ended up winning every race he participated in. The 6x world champion claimed triple victories at the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championship. Lyles wasn?t going to participate in the Eugene Diamond League, but changed his mind before it was too late.

In the 100m dash, compatriot Christian Coleman beat Lyles. The 200m category surprisingly brought forward one of Lyles’ old competitors. With Lyles absent in the Diamond League 200m final, De Grasse used the opportunity to his best. While having fun with his girlfriend, Lyles will surely spare a thought for De Grasse. However, the tussle between the two is not something the world is coming across for the first time.

Rekindling of an old rivalry

Noah Lyles and Andre De Grasse are two of the best sprinters in the world. Interestingly, Lyles had beaten De Grasse at the 2019 Doha WAC. The Canadian returned the favor at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a gold while Lyles secured a bronze medal. As Lyles left the arena defeated, De Grasse’s win is sure to cause pain to him.

This frontal assault translates to just one thing: Noah Lyles? success in Paris isn?t guaranteed. He has to worry about both domestic and international competition since Erriyon Knighton is no longer behind his heel either. The Paris hat-trick that seemed as clear as daylight till now, is shrouded by De Grasse, Coleman, Knighton, and Kenny Bednarek. Will Noah Lyles be able to regain his somewhat dwindled glory in Paris in 2024?
