The Island of Jamaica was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on Monday. Although there are no reports of any serious damages till now, the disaster sent shockwaves through the country for obvious reasons. As concerns poured in, one of Jamaica?s most prominent track and field stars, also took to social media to comfort her fellow Jamaicans in need.
Elaine Thompson-Herah, also known as the fastest woman alive, posted quick updates as soon as the earthquake hit. The track and field icon showed support for her fans and expressed her emotions while caring for the safety of fellow Jamaicans.

The earthquake hit Jamaica a couple of miles west-northwest of Hope Bay. This prompted several Jamaicans to panic and leave their houses and buildings for safety. Calming the chaos with her messages, Thompson-Herah took to Instagram and wished for the safety of the Jamaican public.
The 31-year-old posted a story that said, ?I hope everyone is ok. Me still nervous.? While the sprinter showed her concern for her people, she didn?t choose to hide her own vulnerability either. The message instilled hope in several Jamaicans who are currently in a stage of panic.
The natural disaster shook Jamaica as things fell off because of the tectonic tremors and scared everyone. The earthquake also felt quite close because its epicenter formed at a shallow depth of six miles. In fact, the wishes and prayers of Elaine Thompson-Herah were answered, ensuring the safety of her fellow Jamaicans.

Despite the magnitude of the earthquake, the disaster wasn?t very destructive. Relief agents scanned through the territories where the tremors were felt and came back with good news. The Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness addressed his people and said,??Damage has been minor, but nevertheless, we are taking all precautions.??He also added,??I want to say to all Jamaicans, remain calm.??

While Prime Minister Holness delivered a message to calm the public, Elaine Thompson-Herah was already taking care of it. Her prayers and wishes, along with those of several other Jamaican people, worked their magic and no unfortunate soul lost suffered any lasting damage.
