Noah Lyles made the entire nation proud with his golden three-peat at the World Athletics Championship. Nobody can deny the greatness of his hard work and the makeup of his fabric. However, his recent comments about the NBA have angered a lot of people.

Lyles recently remarked that the entire NBA roster isn’t worthy of being called a “world champion.” His comments have polarized all social media platforms and invited severe backlash from several eminent NBA players and celebrities. In fact, even hip-hop megastar Drake and ESPN’s Stephen Smith have joined the large crowd of infuriated people. 

Noah Lyles picks up a needless beef that proves too hot to handle

The Budapest triple gold medalist was called out by rapper Drake for his bitter commentary about NBA players. Drake took to Instagram and commented on the post carrying Lyles’ speech. He said, “He thought this speech was gonna be so hard in the mirror the night before… Now the whole League doesn’t rate u.” Drake’s displeasure and anger were later joined by the fury of ESPN’s Stephen Smith.

Stephen Smith took a jab at Noah Lyles in an interview and said, “So, Noah Lyles, today very, very, very, ignorant comment. Because, almost a third of the players, are from around the world. Again, 40 countries, six continents. One could easily argue, that NBA players compete more against international competition than he does.” While his initially comments started with a praise for the NBA, he concluded with a diss for Noah Lyles. Several NBA greats also expressed their disagreement with Noah Lyles after his salty statement. Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Damian Lillard questioned the virtue of Lyles after his comment.
