Noah Lyles announced his New Year’s resolution a week early. The track and field superstar with an “ICON” tattoo on his torso endorsed his 2024 season goals in a hefty claim. Lyles said, “We’re going after everything”, banking on the organic factor of fates and muscles. His carved-out calves and stout hamstrings have delivered a consistent record of success in the 2023 season, but the 26-year-old sprinter will not stop until he has reached the rarified sphere of the sport.
The double world champion had dropped a similarly bodacious claim ahead of the World Athletics Championships. Many people disregarded his statements as technobabble. But Noah Lyles is “a student of my craft”, and owes his stride to something more than mere genetics.

Both of Noah Lyles’ parents were collegiate sprinters. His impressive genetics are certainly a factor in his success, but it is his propensity for hard work that has truly propelled him among the greats. Men’s Health Magazine enumerated the series of intense training routines that are part of Noah Lyles’ in-season program. During the off-season, he cools off with his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield and their friends, but the training never stops. His leg exercises include squats, presses, and single-leg Romanian deadlifts. Before his rigorous exercise, Noah Lyles regularly warms up with a glutes and calves activation drill. These are performed under the watchful eye of a physiotherapist who commutes from Australia.
That’s not all, as Noah Lyles also has a masseur and a chiropractor on his training crew. This tough training exercise is not without certain self-care practices. The legendary athlete soothes his aching muscles at the end of a training day with a peaceful soak in the hot tub. A nerd for numbers and results, Lyles said, “If I don’t work on each individual piece to the fullest ability, I leave variables out”. Even with such preparations, Noah Lyles has not been able to perfect his sprinting acumen.

Noah Lyles’ relentless pursuit of excellence
Noah Lyles has been thriving recently, but he has yet to achieve his loftiest goal. With a top speed of 9.83 in the 100 m, he is one of the worthy candidates who can overturn Usain Bolt’s record of 9.58. That would make him the fastest man on the planet. However, his imperfect starts have plagued his ambitions.

To overcome this weakness, Lyles has hired a biomechanist, Ralph Mann. He employs force plates and digital media to address the issue. Mann is using physics to align Lyles’ 300-pound footfall and his center of gravity. This should produce better results in future track and field competitions.
