While Galen Rupp?s medical record says he has asthma, his track record says he has two Olympic medals. The American marathon specialist has made his country proud at the World Championship Marathons as well. However, his body hasn?t really been on his side for quite some time. Although Rupp already deals with asthma and various allergies, he suffered a nagging back injury that totally dismantled him. The injury haunted him for the entirety of 2022. In fact, the long-distance runner failed to complete a single marathon since July of last year.

The 37-year-old, however, recently spoke in an interview where he revealed that he is back in good health. A tweet by FloTrack on X shared a clipping of his interview where he said,??It’s been a rough couple of years for me. My health is good. You know, after the Europe marathon last fall, I wasn’t able to finish. I think I really had to take a long look at everything that I was doing.??His words reflected his inability to perform any of the workouts he had intended for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Rupp further added,??First and foremost, we gotta get healthy first. So, I spend a ton of time just working on a lot of things. Definitely have a lot to clean up in my mechanics and it’s been a lot of time.??The clip concluded with Rupp mentioning,??I really just wanna have a really solid race here. I think it?s going well and obviously, I?m very optimistic.??Rupp?s recovery was long awaited by him and several Americans who now have a new hope for their Olympics dream. Moreover, his recovery was all that was needed since he already holds two Chicago Marathon wins.
