She won her first World Championship gold in this event on 24th August 2023 which compensated for her painful fall at the relay almost a week ago. The view of women’s 4x400m was just amazing and even blinking an eye would feel like a crime at that moment.

She quartered home at 3:20.72, and the relief on her face was quite evident. It is a national record, attaining the first position, Bol left Jamaica in the second position and Britain in 3rd. At a point in the race, Bol was around 10 meters behind the obvious leader Stacey Ann Williams, representing Jamaica. It was very evident that Bol won’t be able to get hold of gold. Bol.” Even sports enthusiasts on Twitter couldn’t stop applauding Bol and her brilliant performance.

The heartbreaking fall at the mixed 4×400 relay was an awakening call for Bol. The frustration she had at the time, pushed her to win this event. She herself couldn’t believe that she had secured the win for the Netherlands.

The World Athletics Championship couldn’t have ended in a better way. Femke Bol just stunned the entire world with her outstanding comeback. Almost a week ago, she faced a fall down at the mixed relay racing and it wasn’t easy for the track and field star at all. She was all in tears and stated, “It wasn’t easy to forget what happened in the final meters of the relay but my team was around me and they put me at my ease.”

To recover from the embarrassment, Bol had this fierce energy inside her. This spirit was vividly evident during the final event of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on the 23rd. She was far away from winning the race, but the way she pushed herself to the first position was commendable. She left behind Yeargin representing Great Britain five meters ahead in second. Silver was also looking like a tough one to attain. But with an unbelievable energy, she hauled herself past through Williams as well in the final few meters. Bol expressed, “I felt like I had to finish as strongly as I could.”
