Noah Lyles‘s words, “I can’t do this no more,” caught everyone off guard just 13 days after his engagement to Junelle Bromfield. It’s a bit surprising, right? This lovebird duo, who had been dating for nearly two years, announced their engagement on October 13, excited about the idea of living together. But as they soon found out, making that leap wasn’t as simple as they had imagined, especially for Lyles, who realized that managing the challenges of engagement was a lot to handle.
On October 26, Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles and his fiancee, Junelle Bromfield, turned Moving Day into a full-on comedy show. Junelle shared a video where Noah was hilariously reporting her to a friend named Gabby for packing up everything an entire week before their move. Junelle laughed it off, calling it “the Jamaican way” and captioning the clip, “When Jamaicans pack, we pack everything 😂😂.”
And Noah, being Noah, added his own flair, teasing, “She packed away all the silverware except for four forks!” Junelle just laughed, trying to get him to focus, reminding him, “We need to pack, just think about it.”

The day was filled with more of their playful back and forth. Noah kept poking fun at Junelle’s super-organized packing spree, even joking, “This girl tries to eat with a fork, just got married, and now she’s packing up all the thousand washcloths. Guess who doesn’t have a towel?” Turns out, this move was Junelle’s first-ever, so the whole thing was a mix of excitement and a little bit of chaos, but mostly just laughs between the two of them.
Now, flash forward to November 2, and it seems they’ve finally settled in their new sweet home, where Lyles finally found comfort. Noah Lyles shared a picture of her new home on Instagram, captioning it, “New man cave coming together.” It seems like he’s created the perfect retreat—a spot in his new house where he can unwind without any trouble from Junelle. Everything was planned perfectly according to his comfort. The room was surrounded by his all-favorite things. He’s got an anime-themed rug from Fullmetal Alchemist, his gaming setup ready to go in which he was already playing League of Legends, and a statue of MUI Goku from Dragon Ball that shows off his love for anime was there.
With his personal touches everywhere, the new place feels like a perfect mix of his personalities. It’s clear they’re loving life in their new home, with the same humor and fun that made the move-in process one for the books. But for both of them, this relationship wasn’t easy at all to make it so far.

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield faced some tough times in their relationship due to a wave of online harassment directed at Bromfield. Ever since she started dating Lyles, some Jamaican social media users had labeled her a “sell-out” for dating an American and even sent her death threats. Shocked by the attacks, Bromfield opened up in an Instagram post, saying, “I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica, especially as a nation that is filled with Black people.” Instead of letting the negativity bring her down, she used her platform to inspire others, telling women and young Black girls, “Don’t wait on anybody to tell you that you’re beautiful to believe it.”

Lyles didn’t hold back in supporting her. Sharing his admiration for her, he wrote on Instagram, “This woman has been attacked by people who have never met her, heard her name before, never seen her smile, or heard what she believes in.” But here comes the role of the track community, which rallied around them, too, with Olympians like Gabby Thomas and Tara Davis-Woodhall cheering Bromfield on.
Thomas reminded her, “WE know you are one of the most beautiful ladies on the track,” while Davis-Woodhall added, “THEY WISH THEY COULD BE YOU.” Despite the challenges, Lyles and Bromfield showed that their relationship was only strengthened, facing the storm together with grace and support from those who truly know them, and finally got engaged!
