Thompson-Herah currently holds the fastest woman alive title. She recorded the second-fastest time of 10.54s in the history of the 100m event at the 2021 Prefontaine Classic. The time is bested only by Florence Griffith Joyner?s controversial 10.49s time during the quarterfinals at the Olympic trials in 1988.
She continued her winning streak well into the 2022 season. Although the Jamaican sprinter had to withdraw from the Birmingham Diamond League after experiencing discomfort during training, she returned at the 2022 Prefontaine Classic to sweep a clean victory at the 100m with 10.79s.
