Kenya-based middle and long-distance runner is reigning over the 1500m currently. Faith Kipyegon’s achievements portray her brilliance in what she does. She is the current world record holder for the 1500m and 5000m, and all of these were set in 2023. She has also clinched gold in the 1500m at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Not just this, she has also nabbed gold at the 2017, 2022, and 2023 World Athletics Championships in 1500m division. Along similar lines, she clinched another gold in the 5000m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. And yet again she has added another feather to her hat. Now, with her applaudable performance at the Diamond League Final, Kipyegon has secured another victory for herself in the women’s 1500m.

The Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field witnessed a stupendous performance by the world champion, Faith Kipyegon. She did not just win, but created yet another record for herself. The track and field community lefy stunned at her terrific performance. The Wanda Diamond League couldn’t stop themselves from applauding her for her extraordinary win.
They posted a picture of Faith on their X account where she can be seen absolutely elated after her win. They captioned the picture as, “Meeting record for Faith Kipyegon.”?They further added, “The world record breaker crowns a historic Diamond League season with 3:50.72 and another dominant win in the 1500m.”?This was indeed a legendary race to witness.
The other performers attempted their best to attain the title. Following Kipyegon, in the second place was Ethiopia’s Diebe Welteji who created a personal best and crossed the line at 3:53.93.

At the third position was Great Britain’s Laura Muir with 3:55.16. And covering the fourth and fifth positions were Ethiopia’s Freweyni Haile and Linden Hall with 3:55.68 and 3:56.92 respectively. Faith Kipyegon was more than happy with her win and stated that she felt fantastic after running for a meeting record.
Kenya’s 1500m star expresses herself after the win at Diamond League Finals
In this long season, Kipyegon has set three world records. Still, she did not stop at the Eugene Diamond League Finals. She was more than elated after meeting a new record at this event. She expressed, “I didn’t watch the clock, I was just running my race and see what will happen at the finish line.”?
She was just absolutely excited after running such an amazing race. The result was absolutely succinct as Faith closed the final quarter at 59.59 and the other nine women finished under four minutes.

Kipyegon stated that she did not worry about anything. She was just moving forward and was unbothered by who was following her.
She expressed her gratitude for all the achievements she has accomplished in this season. She stated, “This was amazing, starting with the world record and now winning the Diamond League trophy.”?

It has been an extraordinary year for her and she is thankful to go for that. Now she has her eyes set on defending her 1500m title.
