Swimming in summer is one of the favorite activities for everyone. However, inexperienced swimmers often face the cons when they get too far from the permitted swimming area. Drowning is one of the potential threats to those inexperienced swimmers, and it has claimed the lives of many on multiple occasions. A spine-chilling drowning accident recently took place at Shannon Beach. Firefighters found the lifeless body of a teenager who went missing while swimming.
According to the Massachusetts state police, he was swimming around 100 yards offshore with his friends. It was then that one of the swimmers realized that he had been doused below the surface. They immediately contacted the rescue team to find the missing boy who did not resurface. The victim’s community is now mourning their tragic loss.

On Saturday, at Upper Mystic Lake, a 17-year-old boy, whose name has not been released yet, was swimming outside the swim zone. It was then that one of his friends realized that he had not resurfaced after swimming. They immediately contacted the authorities around 7:00 pm at Shannon Beach and Stoneham and Winchester firefighters responded to them. The rescue team of Stoneham divers recovered the body near where he had gone missing. It was found six feet deep from where he was last scene.
According to NBC Boston News, State police Patrols, special units, detectives, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and other local public safety partners arrived at the scene. The tragic incident has startled the community and people at Winchester residence are mourning for this tragic loss.

After hearing about this unfortunate loss, the Winchester residents said, “Every year we have some kid die at this beach, every single year, it’s horrible.” They reported that these sorts of accidents happen every year at Shannon Beach. The community recounted some dreadful accidents at Shannon Beach that happened in the past. The whole Winchester community is coming together to support the teen’s family and mourn for this awful tragedy. According to the Local Village Space, the local authorities are even providing counseling services and resources for the ones who are affected.
