Heading to the event, she is the outright favorite for hunting down medals as her domination continues. Significantly, she posted a record time that fans have not seen since 2018. That’s the key takeaway from her stunning performance. She is on a mission to become the best.

Katie Ledecky sets the pace upfront

The 800-meters race saw Ledecky winning it with a time of 8:09.27. This is even a better time than she managed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as she set a time of 8:12.57. Remarkably, the last time she reached this time was back at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo. She posted a time of 8:09.13 in that race. Ledecky won three gold medals, one silver, and a bronze medal at those Championships. Hence, it is safe to say that she continues to dominate the pool.

This is the sixth-fastest time in her career for the 800-meters as she further looks to improve her record in the finals. Swimming is such a competitive sport with talented athletes across the world challenging for the top prize. With Ledecky, she just stands on top of the podium every single time, raising the bar for herself and her competitors.
