The swimming realm is brimming with talent, be it experienced or budding talents. It is filled with stellar performances and graceful strokes. However, this time, the swimming clip that took everyone by surprise was neither from an international meet nor featured an icon. Rather, it was a city meet and the swimmer in the center of the attraction was a mere 4-year-old.
It will be a mistake, however, to go by just her age. Because the technique she showcased in the pool is considered one of the toughest in the swimming realm. To top it, even at the international level, only a handful of superstars have mastered it. For good reasons, the budding talent got a mention from a former World Champion.

The swimming world couldn’t be more stunned than it is now after witnessing the clip of 4-year-old Vanya Maisuenpon from Thailand swimming Butterfly in a competition. She neatly pulled off a no-breather 25m butterfly amidst the group of 6-year-olds. Vanya also caught the attention of former World Champion in 50m breaststroke, James Gibson. The British Olympian took to his Instagram to share the clip, while writing, “One of the Best Swimming videos I have ever seen, what a little Rockstar. @vanya_the_swimmer 4 year old Vanya Maisuenpon from Thailand swimming Butrerfly.” Gibson’s praise did not come without reason. The technique the little one showcased requires extreme expertise. Only a few swimmers have pulled off this swimming trick in the international arena.

The athletes who have performed the ‘breathless’ run
One of the legendary names in the swimming realm, Michael Phelps, has pulled off a no-breather in his stunts. Caeleb Dressel has also performed the same in a 50m butterfly. He reached the finish line without pulling his head out of the water. Another name on the list is the American swimmer, Michael Andrew.

Not pulling out the heads for a breather while performing a race is one of the hardest tricks to execute. It takes every ounce of strength to hold it till the very end of the race. This is one reason why it is extremely shocking to witness a 4-year-old girl completing this trick gracefully without the slightest mistake.
