Tom Brady’s Comeback Makes Him Re-Eligible to Reach Michael Phelps’ Olympic Record

When Michael Jordan retired in 1999, everybody knew it was the end of an era. In fact, he rubbished ongoing rumors then and spoke about never returning to the NBA. However, two years later, he made his comeback to the court and played for the Washington Wizards. Although he did not win any championships, he managed to score 51 points in one game at age 38. Now, a similar comeback has raised eyebrows all over the world. Tom Brady is back, and he stands a chance at chasing the course of history.

Just after announcing his retirement earlier last month, Brady returns to the sport he loves, claiming he has ‘unfinished business.’ Determined, he is now aiming to win his eighth Super Bowl title which equals Michael Phelps’ eight gold medal tally in Beijing.

In a tweet by Kyle Sockwell, he stated an interesting stat that throws some limelight into the current scenario. Currently, Brady has seven Super Bowl titles. The Beijing Olympics of 2008 saw Michael Phelps break Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals that he won at the 1972 Munich Olympics. Thus, Phelps achieved the unthinkable and won eight gold medals. If Brady wins another title, the fan spoke about him equaling his title wins to Phelps’ gold medals in what will surely be an unprecedented achievement.

“Tom Brady was just one Super Bowl win away from having as many rings in his career as Michael Phelps won golds in a single Olympics,” Kyle tweeted.

“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG,” Brady tweeted.
