The 2023 Swimming World Cup Series is making waves among the fandom. This will be a three-events series that will take place in Europe and is starting from the 6th of October. This World Cup will help in opening a door for the contestants to the Doha 2024 Worlds and for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well. With this, all three venues selected for the competition will be using the 50-meter course pool. The prize money for this season has not yet been announced.

According to Swim Swam, the stop in Athens for the series cannot go unnoticed as it is the first stop to be ever selected in Greece. Berlin and Budapest both have hosted the World Cup. This series matches the 2022 series as the shortest in the history of the World Cup, decreasing from 7-8 stops, which has been the rule for most of the series in history.

And the peak of 12 stops was from 1998 through 2000. Usually, the meets are held on a 25-meter course, but this year, the event will take place on a long course meter which will be a 50-meter pool for making the players prepared for the Olympics.

It is still being analyzed whether the reason was the smaller schedule or the presence of the big stars who were from the US and Canada as two of the three stops in 2022 were in North America. And keeping all the factors of 2023’s series in mind, all the factors here are being covered up to boost engagement. The prize money for this season has not yet been announced. However, in 2022, more than $1.1 million was given.
