Hence, Nicole shared an honest confession about her romantic relationship with the ace swimmer. In fact, she also shared a loving and heartwarming message with her fans and addressed anyone facing similar problems.

It is worth noting that Nicole Johnson is Michael Phelps’ first and only romantic partner. While the pair enjoy a fulfilling relationship right now, there was a time when the two had drifted miles apart. However, Michael Phelps decided to take one last dive to claim Nicole back and win the most prestigious part of his life. Thus, when Nicole came across an Instagram post that conformed with the love the couple shared, she shared it on her story with a heartfelt note. 

Nicole shared a post by British life coach and author Jay Shetty, talking about the union of soulmates. It emphasized the unending circle of love between soulmates that never gets lost in time. Hence, adding her own little insight to the deep revelation, Nicole penned down in the Instagram story, “To those who feel they’ve lost their soulmate… It’s true it somehow works itself out. @m_phelps00 and I had many years of heartache and separation to only end up back together… and it’s been amazing.” 

The post perfectly reflected the journey of Michael and Nicole Phelps’ relationship, having been through several ebbs and flows while dating. Despite their incessant struggles, the two realized that they couldn’t live without each other and mindfully resolved things. Heartwarmingly, the swimming icon had already decided that Nicole was his ride-or-die.

Michael Phelps found himself in an utterly discomforting situation after he parted ways with Nicole in 2012. Speaking at an interview, Phelps said, “I wanted just to tell her how I felt; I didn’t want to live my life without her and have her not knowing how I felt. I was ready for whatever she said to me.” Once he set his mind to it, Phelps reached out to Nicole and turned his heart inside out, convincing her to be his forever.

At that moment, the Olympian said he was “Either ready to move on or try again, but I wanted to just express my feelings to her, and that was something that changed our life and put us where we are today which is the best we’ve ever been.” Today, Nicole and Michael Phelps stand strong alongside each other through thick and thin and hope to till the end of time.

Michael went down on one knee on 21st February 2015, and the pair exchanged wedding vows on 13 June 2016, per sources. In fact, the loving Nicole has also updated her Instagram username to Mrs. Nicole Phelps to honor their marriage. The duo now share three children and a happy married life, leaving the community in awe of their commitment.
