According to NBC News, Lopez along with Luis Alberto Orta and Oscar Pino is being mentored by Raul Trujillo. Trujillo was the head of the Greek and Romanian wrestling team which secured victory in the Olympics.

Not only this, according to United World Wrestling’s Twitter handle, Lopez announced,

Mijian Lopez’s upcoming contests before the Paris 2024 Olympics

Lopez will soon participate in the wrestling event in Krygystan with more than 300 wrestlers. This prestigious series will feature wrestling champions who have obtained medals in earlier championships. This series will commence on 1st June 2023. The Cuban wrestler will have to compete with the world’s best wrestlers such as Ravi Kumar from India, Haji Aliyev from Azerbaijan and Mohammed Reza Geraei from Iran.

After this, Lopez will contest in the World Championships in Belgrade in September 2023. Here, wrestlers will have the opportunity to boost their chances to be selected for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
