On Sunday, August 6, two water beasts were seen swimming near the shores. Two beachgoers spotted the sharks swimming near the coast of the Daytona Beach shore. According to a video posted by Wesh, “Some beachgoers got an up-close look at two sharks swimming right along our coast.” This beach located on the Atlantic coast of Florida has about 45 species of shark.

The most common shark that can be found at this shark-infested beach is the lemon shark. These gnarly beasts, which can grow up to 3.4 meters in size, usually travel to mate. Further black-tip sharks, highly dangerous bull sharks, and tiger sharks can also be found in the Daytona Beach waters.

This beach is located in the infamous Volusia County, where shark attacks are 10 times more common than in any other beach or county. Volusia County is also known as the shark bite capital of the world, with the most shark bites reported in the whole wide world. According to Olivares, “I felt like I stepped on a Knife. My goal was to get off the beach.” Another beach located in the county is New Smyrna Beach. In July, the beach reported two shark attacks consecutively. On July 15, a 21-year-old man was bitten by a shark while surfing. The 21-year-old suffered injuries to his foot and was hospitalized.
