In the first leg of the 2023 Swimming World Cup held in the German capital, Berlin, the five-time world champion, Nic Fink could not secure a win in the 100-meter event. A 24-year-old soaring athlete representing China surpassed him and Adam Peaty in the 100-meter breaststroke event.

Following this news, in the second leg of the Swimming World Cup that will run from October 13 to October 15 in Athens, Greece, Nic Fink has regained his form. In the second 100-meter breaststroke event, the athlete managed to leave five-time Olympian Adam Peaty upset after clinching silver in the Greece.

As the 2nd leg of the 2023 swimming world cup commenced in Greece, Adam Peaty could not secure a win. In the 100-meter breaststroke, Nic Fink clinched the silver in 59.28, while world record holder Qin Haiyang maintained his winning streak by standing atop the podium after finishing the race in 58.44. The third position was secured by Arno Kamminga in 59.40. Interestingly, at the same time, Peaty, who holds expertise in the event, had to settle for the sixth position after finishing the race in 59.98.

This loss came for the British swimmer after the athlete qualified for the event by ranking sixth in 1:0.39. On the other hand, Qin Haiyang and Arno Kamminga won the heats by securing the first and second positions in 59:52 and 59.74, respectively. The soaring star Qin Haiyang managed to win the event after defeating Adam Peaty in Germany. The athlete even secured a record after defeating the athlete in the event.

Qin Haiyang sets a world record

Everyone’s out for my blood. go-join-the queue,’ stated Peaty prior to facing Qin Haiyang in German waters. However, things took a different turn as the 24-year-old swimmer surpassed him and Nic Fink in the breaststroke event. The Chinese swimmer won the event in 57.69, while Fink and Peaty had to settle for the fourth and sixth positions by clocking in 59.68 and 59.85, respectively. Amid this win, Haiyang also managed to set the world’s second-fastest time in history.

All in all, despite the disappointment faced by Nic Fink in the first leg of the event, after surpassing Peaty, the athlete has brought back the grandeur of the United States in swimming. The fans are now girded up to witness the swimmer strike his magic in Paris next year.
